The North East Legal Walk 9 May 2012

The 4^th Annual North East Legal Walk will take place on 9^th May 2012 at 5.30 pm raising money on behalf of the North East Legal Support Trust. The 5 km walk around the Newcastle/Gateshead Quayside will begin at Newcastle upon Tyne Combined Courts. His Honour Judge Goss and Helen Ager, Vice President of Newcastle upon Tyne Law Society, will set the walkers on their way.

The North East Legal Walk raises money to support the vital work of not for profit and voluntary legal advice agencies based in the North East of England. Grant awards have been made from money raised throughout the course of 2011 benefitting a number of legal advice agencies located between Berwick and Teesside. The North East Legal Walk will conclude with a Drinks Reception provided by Irwin Mitchell at Jurys Inn NewcastleGateshead Quays. Walkers can enjoy a well-deserved drink whilst having the opportunity to network with other members of the legal profession including solicitors, barristers and the judiciary

Walkers will also be encouraged to enter a competition to win a prize in the following categories:

· Biggest Team

· Most Money Raised

· Best T-Shirt (individual or Team)

Casino Night sponsored by Wesleyan for Lawyers

Join us for Casino night at Aspers for a two course meal followed by an evening of casino fun- hopefully there'll be some winners amongst us! The casino will double our first £5 bet to double our chances.

Cost: £10 per person

JLD Annual Conference and Ball

Offering a mix of keynote speeches, practical breakout sessions and networking opportunities, the JLD Annual Conference and Ball provides invaluable guidance on taking control of your career. Sessions include:

Court advocacy and presentation
Improving your network using social media
Claims, conduct and risk management
Career development and strategy
An introduction to alternative business structures.

There will also be CV clinics throughout the day - gain invaluable feedback and tips for improvement in these 30 minute face-to-face clinics.

Description: The festive season is upon us, which can only mean one thing - it\'s time for the JLD Chistmas Party! This year we have arranged a quiz for you all, so gather your friends and join us! Tickets are £4 for members, £8 for non-members (you can join on the night) and this inclused entry to the quiz, a hot Christmas buffet, a free drink and a shot later on (for those who are feeling festive!) All are welcome (even those who are not strictly Junior Lawyers) so put your party hat (or should that be thinking cap) and come join us!
